Birthday wish list.

I’m not a big fan of birthdays. I feel like I’m still nineteen, and intend to stay that way for a while. Nineteen was a good year - post highschool, old enough to party, young enough to party, old enough to start to understand why older people know better.

Every year, people ask me what I want for my birthday. Now that I’m living on the other side of the world, all I want is a skype chat with my friends and family, really. My mum’s been sending us gifts via Amazon and online shopping sites, and having them shipped to our address in the USA. This works very well. Even though I know I’m too old for presents, there are quite a few red, shiny things I would squee over if someone found it in their heart (and credit card limit) to post these to me.

Tres Noir Ultra Lux

Tres Noir are hand-made acetate sunglasses which are absolutely phenomenal. Individual, amazing colours, and hard-wearing. My friend Fi put me onto these, and I want some. Oh, how I want some. (Available online, or in Austin at Blackmail, South Congress)

Melissa Adanna

RED VELVET SHOES! These are made by an Australian company, Melissa, and are fuzzy cherry red! The cutest shoes I’ve ever, ever seen. This company has some absolutely lovely shoes, and had my favourite performer Dita Von Teese do an ad campaign for them.

Amazon E-Gift Card

Gift cards. I get it, I live on the other side of the planet. I like shopping, so please, don’t worry. Let me do it!

Corter Leather For Japan

Corter Leather is donating 100% of the proceeds from their special ‘For Japan’ hand made leather wrist bands to the American Red Cross Japanese Tsunami Appeal.

Above all, the greatest gift I could get for my birthday is a chance to share it with you. I’ll be online on Skype at times through the day - that’s 4 May, from 11am to midnight, Brisbane time.

I hope this list helps, and would someone please pass it on to Nan.
